We are pleased to announce that the 5th International Particle Accelerator Conference IPAC’14 will take place at the International Congress Center , Germany, from June 15 - 20, 2014. The conference has been held consecutively in Asia, Europe and North America since 2010, and combines the previous continental conferences. This is the second IPAC to be held in Europe.
- also known as the 'Florence of the North' - has a history of more than 800 years. The city is famous for its splendid art collections, baroque architecture and exciting cultural life. More than 9.5 million visitors come to each year.
has developed a unique atmosphere, characterized formerly by its role as a royal residence and now by that of a federal-state capital. The flair of the city is based above all on its blend of architectural sights, world famous collections and living traditions in music and fine arts. Even today the buildings from the Renaissance, Baroque and 19th century decorate the banks of the Elbe and make up the face of the city.
The International Congress Center is located on the River Elbe with a spectacular view of , next to the historical city centre and near to most of the hotels. It operates in close cooperation with its direct neighbor – the newly-reconstructed Maritim Hotel on the premises of the old Erlwein storehouse.
The modern congress venue offers very modern facilities and stages for artists and cultural performances including an outside terrace of more than 3000 square metres in size from where visitors have a magnificent view of the illuminated historical city centre. The International Congress Center can host events with up to 3000 participants.
IPAC’14 is hosted by the Helmholtz-Zentrum -Rossendorf (HZDR) and supported by the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) and Deutsches Elektronensynchrotron (DESY).
